For renovation and replacement window projects, we offer two styles of sliding sash window designs suitable for Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian properties. A Traditional Box Sash window with weights and a Spiral Balance design.

Traditional Box Sash Windows use a weights hidden in the framework to assist with lifting the sashes up and down. Often we will use traditional lead weights or we can use modern steel weights - both of which are hidden away in the box housing that forms the framework. The windows are easily opened by sliding the top sash down or the bottom sash up. We can also supply restrictors to limit the opening of the sashes for security and safety reasons. Popular in Listed Buildings, this style of sash window can be easily replicated and supplied with single glazing or slimline double glazed units for greater thermal efficiency.

Spiral Balance Sash Windows are a more modern design and are a great alternative to the traditional weights and pulleys sash window. The balances are not contained within a box section and allow for a greater expanse of glazing as they require a slimmer framework and hence can allow more light into the property.
